Michael Caputo

Michael and Janice have been involved in farming/large scale gardening for over 30 years while juggling raising 2 generations of kids and professional careers. For several years in the 90s, we owned and operated a NOFA certified Organic Farm in Skaneateles NY. We have both worked on commercial farms and gardened since we were children. Michael does not have an Agricultural degree per se but did receive an Environmental Chemistry MS from the University of California at Davis and was immersed in the organic farming community.

Our business plan is in progress... A high level overview is as follows: Our goals for acquiring a farm property include: 1. developing an agriculture enterprise that produces high value products (prepared, preserved foods, herbal remedies and tinctures, herbal extracts, etc.) derived from onsite and locally acquired inputs. 2. support young/aspiring farmers through providing farmland, facilities, support, and potentially equity. 3. create a destination/meeting place for locals and travelers to access local products, entertainment, information. 4. provide a venue for local producers to produce and sell their products to retail customers. 5. acquire a farmland easement on the property.
