Business Plan and/or future farming vision and goals:

We’re entering farming as retirees and novices and we see our farming future in two phases. Initially, while we learn to farm using regenerative practices our goal will be to simply cover our costs by producing meat and growing vegetables for our own consumption. This will allow us to develop our skills and learn what works well with the land, our abilities and the environment. We imagine this phase lasting two to three years. The second phase, if we decide to continue, will be to expand portions of the farm to become income generating so that we are contributing to the surrounding community. As a couple our interests and skills are different and complimentary. My background is in social work and Michael is a construction management profess or who worked in construction for two decades before pursuing his advanced degrees. Michael wants to grow hay for our animals and vegetables for our own consumption. I feel a strong connection to animals and I want to produce high quality meat.
