Past and Present Farming Experience:

I have farmed (on and off) at various vegetable and livestock farms since 2013. I started farming in NJ, spent a few years on farms in the Hudson Valley, and moved to Maine in 2017. My first farm job in Maine was at Six River Farm in Bowdoinham. I also worked at Fuzzy Udder Creamery in Whitefield from 2021-2023. I currently work as Farm Program Coordinator for MCHT's Aldermere and Erickson Fields in Rockport where I assist with projects/programs (ie. TeenAg) in the 4 acre veggie field and lead programs that introduce young kids to Belted Galloway cows.

Business Plan and/or future farming vision and goals:

Working on this at present. Current vision/goals include growing medicinals, flowers, herbs and vegetables on a small scale for sale at the farm, local restaurants, and farmers markets. Want to experiment with dye plants as well. I would like to incorporate a B&B business that welcomes guests to supplement farm income. B&B would offer homemade breads and jams, eggs gathered from chickens/ducks, other baked goods, etc. Ideally a farmhouse, with 1-2 extra rooms for B&B guests, and an in-law apartment for seasonal apprentices, WOOFERS, or local community members in need to a place to live, etc. Potentially interested in taking over the Swallowtail Farm property and business. I have already spoken to Lauren Pignatello and will be meeting with her next weekend. I have some experience in the dairy/creamery world and a small scale business would be a great place to start.
