Anna Fox, 5-100 acres, herb, perennial berry +

We are a passionate and experienced couple with a diverse skillset and many years of collective farming in different capacities. Anna has worked on organic farms, wwoofed, and managed a very successful herb farm and company called Farmacy Herbs in Rhode Island. She has been an herbalist for 15 years and has an established herbal product company in the Oxford Hills region of Maine, called Fertile Ground Apothecary. She makes small batch, organic herbal products including teas, salves, infused oils and herbal blends and sells them online and at the local farmers markets including the busy Bridgton farmers market and the community oriented Norway farmers market. Ivan has years of experience in organic farming, in addition to carpentry, small engine/ automotive maintenance and repair, electrical work and solar, IT/networking, and consultative sales. Together we have the knowledge and drive to have a successful farming business and are already well integrated in our community with previously established strong relationships with local businesses, farmers markets, other farms, and families

We have spent a collective 15 years on farms learning and contributing to others’ visions and now are ready to transfer that experience and wisdom to having our own farm and expanding our business. The farm will be an herb and perennial berry farm following organic and regenerative practices. We will grow the herbs we know we will need for our preexisting herbal product company which will also allow us to expand our volume of products, increase our variety of value added products, and sell bulk herbs by the pound. We will also have a U-Pick structure for the herbs in addition to perennial berries including blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and elderberries. Growing diverse crops will increase the resiliency of our business and appeal to a variety of costumers. We feel strongly about positively impacting our community and strive to offer nutritious, chemical free, local food, herbs, and products that nourish and educate folks about eating in a way that cares for our bodies and Earth. We envision creating a hub on our land that focuses on food resilience, fostering mentorship, encouraging collaboration, and building community.
