Past and Present Farming Experience:

We have been farming hogs and cattle since 2016 on 10 acres of farmland in Michigan. Beginning with 4 hogs for our own consumption, we quickly expanded our herd to 11 American Guinea hogs for meat production. At the same time, we also began with one Scottish Highland before expanding to 5 heads of cattle, also for meat production to feed our growing family and for breeding. We have had experience with goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys, and other farm animals since 2013. We have made a connection with a local brewery, obtaining their spent grains, and using them to feed our animals on a weekly basis. I am certified through Cornell Small Farm courses, i.e. pasture pigs and outdoor mushroom cultivation.

Business Plan and/or future farming vision and goals:

HOUSE OF HAMBURG FARM 11434 Hogan Hwy Clinton, MI 49236 Steve Hamburg – Owner – 734-660-6774 stevehamburg79@gmail.com Aubrey Hamburg – Owner – 734-395-6688 aubreyhamburg@gmail.com 1.) Executive Summary: At House of Hamburg Farm, our belief is spending days working together with family is far more essential than spending our days apart. House of Hamburg Farm is a family-owned pasture-raised pork and grass-fed beef company focusing on the welfare of our animals and preservation of the land in which they occupy. Reconnect with our rural roots. Steve and Aubrey have been farming hogs and cattle since 2016 on 10 acres of farmland. Beginning with 4 hogs for our own consumption, we quickly expanded our herd to 11 American Guinea hogs for meat production. At the same time, we also began with one Scottish Highland before expanding to 5 heads of cattle, also for meat production to feed our growing family. We have had experience with goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys, and other farm animals since 2013. We have made a connection with a local brewery, obtaining their spent grains, and using them to feed our animals on a weekly basis. A relationship we aspire to build between grains feeding hogs, and the hogs feeding us. We created this company through our love of farming, our animals, and our love for the land. By way of adaptive high stock density grazing, we are giving our hogs the opportunity to graze and forage in their natural state, which produces a happier, healthier hog. Our intensive rotational grazing style allows our hogs to forage in their natural habitat creating a healthy balance between land and animal. Our cattle and beef are healthy non-gmo grass-fed and grass-finished Scottish Highland beef. Living an all-natural life from birth to harvest on House of Hamburg Farm. Creating a symbiotic relationship between hogs, cattle, land, and us as farmers and community. Our pork and beef are to be processed at the local meat processing plant. From there, we sell our meat products through online sales, farmers markets, roadside farm stand, and eventually through local breweries and eateries. Maintaining a local presence and community involvement is a priority. This is a thriving market in which transparency is valued and in constant demand. Through transparency, we are providing the highest quality of meat, therefore, we thrive as a family and a community. 2.)
