I grew up working on farms in Northeastern NC and am a generation removed from farming in that area. I managed the Zavik Farm and Homestead in Todd, NC for 5 years cultivating grasses and hay for farm horses (used for cultivation), vegetables, orchards, berries, fish, poultry, and a small goat herd for milk. Additionally, cane for molasses and a small timber plot. Later I worked with Snow Bend Farms in Tuscaloosa, Al cultivating vegetables, berries, flowers, herbs, and hogs for wholesale and retail sales including a full year CSA program. On the heels of Hurricane Helene, my wife Candice (a ceramics artist of 26 years) and I relocated to the mid coast of Maine to settle after years of living in NM, CO, MT, and western NC. We are looking to establish a flower, herb, and sheep operation in addition to operating a ceramics/ art center for community arts. We are no strangers to sustained work and long term planning and implementation of attainable growth and goals. Additionally I am a master carpenter with experience in all woodworking from timber framing to boatbuilding,

We are looking to establish a flower, herb, and sheep operation in addition to operating a ceramics/ art center for community arts. We are no strangers to sustained work and long term planning and implementation of attainable growth and goals including a CSA and farm stand/ markets. As a time table, we are looking at a 5 year range to establish markets and ready soil for appropriate plantings and grazing. Currently, Candice is scheduling courses to open Tugboat Arts and I am a boatbuilder with Lyman Morse in Thomaston. Initially, Candice will begin operations as we establish ourselves and markets.
