2018: Spent one year working on a variety of organic farms in New Zealand 2019-:Spent one year working on a diversified organic farm in Oregon as an intern through the Rogue Farm Corp (Vegetables, potatoes/grains, poultry, swine, beef cattle, dairy) 2020-Present: Founded and continue to run our own certified organic farm business (Rivenwood Gardens) on leased land in Floyd, VA. We raise vegetables, strawberries, blueberries, grain and pulse crops, hay, sheep, cattle, and poultry.

Yes, our business plan is flexible to taking on an existing farm business including dairying. However, our vision and goals are to grow a mixed/ diversified farm operation to include annual vegetables, fruits, orchard crops, row crops/ grain crops, pastured dairy/ livestock, managed woodland, and agritourism. Our current farm business focuses on direct marketed intensive high value annual fruit and vegetable crops as our main revenue source on ~5 acre scale, with grain crops and pastured livestock being more passive and extensively managed supplemental incomes sources. This will continue to be our plan in a new operation as we invest in longer term orchard/perennial plantings and agritourism efforts. Taking over an established operation (i.e. dairying, orchard, etc) is also an option for us and our business plan can be adjusted accordingly.
