Past and Present Farming Experience:

I grew down the road from a small beef farmer, I started working there when I was 11, I still remember that farmers smile when I was talking to him after pedaling my bike up, I asked to work because it was haying season, he told me I would start the next day and that I'd be in the loft. I worked there until I was 17 it wasn't steady work but if something was happening I was there to help, he got rid of his beef herd and his son bought the fields and bought the round bale equipment and no longer needed an extra set, I still hunt in the fields, but he doesn't need an extra set of hands. I have wanted to have a self-sustaining catering/food truck business since I did 2 years of culinary arts in high school. After the farm didn't need my help anymore, I started working in a kitchen, I was just a dishwasher. My love of cooking came from my mother, she always tried to recreate the dishes she tried at restaurants as our home cooked dish. I took some time off from pursuing my dream and went and got a job in the construction trade, I was offered $17 an hour when all the kitchens and farms were only offering $11 an hour. My high school sweet heart was in college and she told me she was pregnant, Idk about you but I'm going with making sure my family was set before my dream, well she pass away a few years ago, she graduated from dental hygiene school and pass away in the same month, that meant the hole we both us in was mine to climb out of and I been trying, rents don't typically let you farm. I don't care about making a profit from farming, actually don't really plan on it, but just having an area to raise my own food would be nice.

Business Plan and/or future farming vision and goals:

Firstly I need land to get all this started. Then I am going to get the various different livestock you can get starting with sheep, poultry, Berkshire pigs, and some kind of cattle. With rotational grazing I plan on keeping the herd year-round, ill be selling products in raw form so as in how supermarkets, farmers markets, farm stores do. My catering/food truck service is only off products I can grow/raise or barter(buy) from other local farms.
