Seeker Details

Past and Present Farming Experience:

I have over a decades worth of experience as an organic farmer. I began farming as an apprentice in Colorado, growing organic veg and tending to sheep and chickens. When I moved to Maine I continued to raise pasture fed sheep, cattle, and poultry. The past five years I have been managing a 3 acre organic farm in midcoast Maine. This is the first year of both managing said farm and starting my own farm operation, Crowded Hearth.

Business Plan and/or future farming vision and goals:

I am currently creating a business plan through the Journey Person Program at MOFGA. My dream is to have 2-3 acres tillable land for annual crops, although I would likely implement low/no till methods once beds have been established. Would love to have grazing animals/hens/meat birds. Couple farmers markets a week, farmstand and community opportunities.
