We both have lived and worked within the farming community of Waldo County for the last five years; Nate at the Johnny’s Selected Seeds Research Farm in Albion, and Rachel first as a manager at New Beat Farm in Knox, and now on her own organic vegetable farm, Seven Moon Farm, on rented land in Montville. We are deeply committed to and involved in the Maine farming community, and have been searching for a farm of our own since 2020.

I am currently operating my own certified organic mixed vegetable & dry flower farm (Seven Moon Farm) on rented land in Waldo County. We are looking a permanent location, as the current lease arrangement is expiring. Currently my farm operates on 1.5 tilled acres, supplying vegetables & dry flowers to wholesale distributors, small restaurant accounts, and farmer's market. We envision the farm growing to 2.5 acres in production and supporting full or part time employees within the next 5 years. We strive to reduce tillage while maintaining healthy and productive soils, but do not envision ourselves as a no-till farm. We are committed to organic production, and would love to be able to maintain our certification status through this transition, however we are prepared to put in the work necessary to transition the land if need be.
