Records exist for the farm going back to the early 1800's, with the existing farmhouse being built around 1850. The farm has supported livestock for many of those years, with cattle and sheep being the predominate. The last 3 years it has been a sheep farm. There are roughly 13 acres of pasture, a lot of which has been reclaimed and enhanced the last few years. There are an additional 2 acres that have been cleared for pasture with some work needed to finish the conversion. Another 5+ acres could be easily cleared for more pasture as was the plan over the next few years. There are 2 ponds on the property, both currently still have water. One appears to be spring fed and historically remains year round. One is runoff and weather dependent, but after some clean out and digging it has remained the last few years. We have maintained a flock of 60 sheep with rotational grazing, hayed roughly 5 acres, while also lending a significant portion of one pasture for cows. We would love to see the farm maintain its heritage of support livestock while further enhancing its condition.
