Farm ID 3845

I first walked the land in spring 2024, was captivated by the railroad bed above wide hayfield and seasonal stream gurgling down toward Bog Brook. The lumber taking in 2023 by previous owner had left slash both along the RR siding (where I’d intended to build an off grid structure, but used boxtruck & cabin tent for housing) and in the upper, south facing open acres. Eastern edge of those open 2+ acres is bounded by stonewall & barbed wire. My eldercare work and limited dedicated help slowed progress; we used greenhouse for seedstarting & secure storage and hauled water to a handful of beds the first year. West facing field has been in hay for many years; Fine neighbor up the road took over haying as previous huge tractor left a few “bathtubs” in the field. He has filled most of those. I would like to see the potential of this very unique land be developed and the magical seasonal brook untrammeld. The long railbed and siding offer ideal level growing/pen area and great access to the upper field, now in goldenrod & brambles.
